Oceanside Logistics have successfully delivered a Dougal Steam Locomotive from Kaohsiung to Welshpool. The 6 tonne locomotive arrived into Southampton Port last week and was delivered on a specialist HIAB assisted vehicle to the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway.
The Dougal Locomotive was built to work at Provan Gasworks, Glasgow in 1946. Gas works lines like this usually meant working in the very restricted confines of retort houses, explaining Dougal's small and especially low shape.
The locomotive was delivered to the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway on the 18th April where it will be displayed at festivals throughout the summer months.
